The beach would be the last place I would go to get away from the heat.  I'll take the beautiful mountains any day over the beach - particularly if it is the lovely nearby small town of Highlands, NC (my favorite weekend getaway) or Sapphire Valley. Too bad I have had other family matters to attend instead.

I checked out those websites.......and those places look BEAUTIFUL! I'm so excited to be moving to Greenville!! So much to do and explore and many weekend trips! What a beautiful place.....The Carolinas!! Ever since I was a little girl.......I've always had a drawing to The Carolinas! Now, I get to live there!
On another note, I'm glad you are OK, Skyliner and I hope your "family matters" weren't anything too upsetting.
