Ignore forum member I am quoting. He is posting his opinion and not the facts. Just remember which city was ranked #4 in the country to live in: Relocate-America'sâ„¢ 2008 Top 100 Places to Live (http://top100.relocate-america.com/ - broken link) At least I don't have the "deer in the headlight i'm screwed" look.
yes just my opinion, like he was asking for " Having not spent much time at all in G'ville can I get thoughts, opinions, suggestions?"
Charlestoncadet sounds like the reincarnation of recently banned forum member, "southerngentleman," whom we experienced more than enough garbage information from. I suggest utilizing the ignore function for this guy because he will have nothing good to say about the Upstate.
She seens like a nice person, but as any guy knows,If you are missing the SEC you want Football!!!! And any guy that has been there knows, there is nothing like "footballtime in Tennessee!!!
Sorry honey if I offended you by having an opinion about places to live!
Greenville is a nice town, but nothing like a Football Sat. in Neyland stadium.Ranked Number 1 in The NATION by Sporting News !!! Now that is a great reason to pick a city.UT Sports Official Site (http://www.utsports.com/facilities/page.aspx?id=9708 - broken link)

I posted this in both the Greenvile and Knoxville forums and the response has been the same in both places, Greenville is heavily favored. I twould probably be a better fit career wise as we have regional headquarters there as well (the job would be an internal move) and would likely be where I end up...if I get the position.
In charelstoncadets defense, he is spot on about Football Time in Temnnessee. Heck, I got goosebumps just typing that. There is nothing like it anywhere in the country that I've ever experienced and I will bleed Rocky Top Orange for the remainder of my days. So much so that that is the reason I wanted to be back in K'ville. Nothing against Raleigh, I like it here but the passion for ACC basketball here is a bit lacking compared to what I came from.
Thanks everyone for the responses and keep the opinions and suggestions coming. I'd love to know of some out of the way local places to eat at if I make it to G'ville for an interview. Though I'm not vegetarian, I do try and eat all natural, organic and perservative free if I can...
Greenville still outranks Knoxville in many catagories. More than Knoxville outranks it in.
Actually, what I've discovered is that Knoxville tends to edge out not just Greenville, but also Charleston and Columbia, in several rankings. But rankings don't tell the whole story either so it's nothing to get all bent out of shape about.

No kidding! Rankings and list of this nature are like polls... you can get one to say whatever you want.Plus there are 1000's of them each year, the only way to get anything meaningful from them is to look at the cities and towns which appear on several list year after year. And even that means very little.
Finding a town to put on your personal list of what is great to you and gives you what you want from a place is the most important criteria!
Tennessee has no income tax; SC has a 7% income tax. There is 3% higher sales tax but even if you spend everything you make you are still
5% ahead by living in Tn. Nashville is a very young town with a pro sports scene, diverse entertainment venues, and good job opportunities. And housing prices have fallen allowing for a good entry point, in '08, for future appreciation.
