My wife and I will be moving by the end of the year and are looking for a reliable, and resonable mover for the trip from Ewing (North of Trenton) to Anderson, SC. Can someone give us an idea as to moving costs? We have been quoted around $5000 for a four room move.
We didn't bring any real furniture with us. We needed new stuff anyway and didn't want to spend to move it down here. We hired United Van Lines to haul our load which consisted mostly of boxes. We had our stuff put in storage for a few months and didn't have any real problems. The only thing I noticed when unpacking was that the heat of the storage room killed any elastic (inside clothes and such) that we had packed up.

Thanks.
Oh wow, I grew up about 20 minutes away from Ewing.
Thanks Bella9. I will look into both sites. They look promising. I am not moving much furniture but they are curio cabinets that are delicate and would prefer that somebody packs them. I will probably move some on my own in October and will look into your first link; I do not want to mention name, my message might be deleted.
Will also look at United Van Lines myrc60. Thanks to all.
We moved to Anderson using ABF & would reccommend it to anyone & everyone as the most reasonable way to do it without spending a fortune on a moving company then not knowing how things are packed as have had the moving company experience in the past .
My sister just joined me down here in Anderson this past month. She used Mayflower movers and will be putting in a call to the BBB. They had her stuff for 2 weeks before delivering it after promising one week and then only delievered half the items and she was told it would take another week, it took another week and half. She is also glad that she bought the insurance cause she has missing boxes and broken items.
We went Penske and cost us about $1600 in rental and about $350 in gas and that was back in April. We had heard good things about ABF Frieght.
Good luck in whatever you do!! The move was from Westerly Rhode Island to Anderson SC.
We've moved long distance a few times using ABF & wouldn't use anyone else . At least packing things ourselves nothing was ever broken , everything arrived as we had packed it & we saved a few thousand dollars with ABF . First move Utah to Mississippi , then on to Anderson , SC . If they deliver trailer to you on a Wednesday , you then have the rest of the week & weekend to load it , they then pick it up on Monday , do the same for delivery . Questions let us know..
