I was looking for an African-American real estate agent in Greenville, SC and when I googled that I came up empty. I am from NYC (I love NY) and have lived with a great variety with people and would love to go back. I'm white so I am wondering if I am being bigoted like most of SC by looking for a specific agent. I know I could find a gay real estate agent, but why can't I google an African-American.??
I doubt many agents are going to say on their site "I'm black" or "I'm African American" any more than an agent would state "I'm white."
That said, just so you know, many black Americans prefer to be called black rather than AA these days so you might want to try using "black." I'd still be surprised if they've self-identified with words so they come up in searches that way though!!
I don't know that's it bigoted, but I don't really know why you're looking for an agent of a specific race....wouldn't getting a good agent, regardless of color, be more important??
Just out of curiosity; how does the color of ones skin affect the way they sell you a house?
I'm inclined to think that this is a troll trying to stir up some trouble. Not sure though. As to your question, if you judge someone solely on the basis of their skin color, what would you call it?
I'm with Sonrise and g-man: this stinks of troll. And FWIW, if you have to ask whether or not you're being a bigot, the answer is that you probably are.

Note the "am I being bigoted like most of South Carolina" part. That's just itching for an irritatable retort.
With 2 posts it is always possible that this person is trying to stir up trouble, but why don't we try giving them the benefit of the doubt before making that assumption?
