I'm moving to Spartanburg on Friday (July 4) and I want to find a home church. I just graduated with a B.A. in Biblical Studies, and I'm planning on becoming a pastor in the next 3-5 years. I want someplace that is willing to have me help out in their youth department and is a nice place to come on Sunday mornings. I went to an Assemblies of God univeristy, so I'm looking for an A/G or non-denominational place- or somewhere like it. I don't like church hopping a whole lot, but I might need to once I get to Spartanburg. Any help would be much appreciated!

Evangel Cathedral maybe? Very large and active church. If you're a ministry student, it's great to have some experience in a multi-staff church. You'll learn a lot!

Smile EC or Breakthrough

Yes...I agree Evangel Cathedral would be great for you...or Breakthrough on Blackstock Rd....I would really suggest that you do a bit of "hopping" around and find a fellowship you feel at home with...then dig in with both feet!
Blessings to you!

I hear North Hills Community Church is seriously discussing the possibility of starting a new church in Spartanburg.

That's wonderful. I just heard that Newspring Church is also starting a new church there as well. It think it will be great for the city.

Baptists may not be your thing but I was quite impressed with First Baptist Spartanburg. Great pastor!
