hey there all...
can't seem to get a decent answer elsewhere; thought i'd turn to what seems to be the quickest + most reliable source. what can i expect any of the following to cost/month for a 1 bdrm apt:
1. electric
2. cable
3. water
4. trash
5. sewage (is this separate from trash?)
On average I spend about $100/mo for utilities for my 1 bdrm, 750 sq ft apartment. That includes electric, gas, water, and cable, but not the "included in rent" trash, sewer, and internet, or phone service. Summer tends to be higher costwise due to increased electricity consumption.
you can usually call the water and electric company(Duke power for most places I think) to get previous bills or at least an estimate for whatever apartment you are looking at, that should give you a good idea. I pay 85 dollars a month for basic cable digital phone and cable internet through Charter and have never had a problem, although I hear alot of people hate them. I have no idea about trash and sewage, never had to pay anything like that, if you live within the city limits it should be free???
My boyfriend just got an apartment at The Corners in Spartanburg, and he pays about $650 a month for a one bedroom with everything included... not too bad since it's a nice place!
