What's fun to do in Spartanburg/Greenville?
I'm new to the area and looking for some fun things to do in the area. I love sports, parks, museums, zoos, etc. Are there any minor league/major league baseball teams close? I'm from Ohio so I'm not sure what cities all the carolina sports teams are from. I'm looking to take my boyfriend to some sort of sporting even for his birthday-- let me know the best places you have been for a day trip/visit!!
Thanks a bunch!

places to go
You may want to go to the Greenvlle Drive baseball game in the West End of Downtown Greenvile, take a stroll through the zoo at Cleveland Park.
Check out www.greatergreenville.com. Look under the things to do link.

Went with my family to a Greenville Drive baseball game on a Friday night and stayed after for the fireworks. It was great fun and a beautiful little ball park. There are lots of free concerts in downtown Greenville too. Take a picnic and go to the concerts out at Furman University on a Thursday night. Falls Park in downtown Greenville is just beautiful with the waterfalls and the Liberty Bridge, Shakespeare in the Park, etc. There are art museums and lots of galleries in town.
There are also lots of fun places within 45 min. to 1-1/2 hours of Greenville. Today, for instance, we left at 8 a.m., drove up to Caesar's Head, stopped at Pretty Place (a gorgeous chapel in the mountains at Camp Greenville), continued on to Brevard (a neat little town just over the border in NC) then went from there to Hendersonville, then to a play at the Flat Rock Plalyhouse and back for dinner and gelato in downtown Greenville. A lot crammed into about 12 hours!

You just caused gas prices to go up about $2 a gallon.
