I've been meaning to post this for a few weeks now; the new plates/tags are hideous. First of all, what's up with the desert landscape colors? It looks like the Arizona plates of a few years ago. We went from having some of the nicest plates in the country, with an awesome slogan to a really bland nondescript one that says travel2sc on it. UGH!!!

I saw the first one a few weeks ago and thought it was an out of state car from Nevada at first. LOL.

Blatant Clemson influence...it's a conspiracy!

I agree with you, Sonrise. Since plates apparently must be "uniquely" designed for each state's residents, there are several elements about this design that do not appeal to me. First off, I would like to know why the crescent moon is darkly silhouetted rather than shining brightly in the evening/morning sky. I would have preferred faint blue mountains in the background (behind the trees) representing the Upstate, and a shimmering body of water in the lower foreground to represent the Coastal regions.

I still don't understand the so-called "Clemson" connection. When you see the plate in person, you may think the same. It is nothing but a figment of imagination.

My stepson, who thinks the new plates are wonderful, told me that they were designed by a guy from Clemson. That could easily explain the purple and orange.
