Story from WYFF: IMAX Coming To Upstate Theater - Money News Story - WYFF Greenville (http://www.wyff4.com/money/17036896/detail.html?rss=gs&psp=news - broken link)
It sounds to me like the IMAX is not an addition. All they are doing is revamping one of the theaters. The screen will not be as big as the regular IMAX theaters. I'm still excited though as at least we will get to see some movies in 3-D.

We were in the theater about 1 hour before the 3-D came on - then it lasted for about 20 minutes - then went off again. It was a bit of downer. I think IMAX will be a hit for a while, but it will level off. As I said there 10 people in there when we went, albeit the Charleston location was very bad. It's just too expensive for most families.
I saw the last harry potter at the Imax in Charleston (before it closed) and it was the same...only one scene (or maybe two, can't remember) was actually in 3D. I was pretty disappointed. I want to see an entire movie in 3D! Is that too much to ask?!? Haha, maybe so...but I want it!
For the record, since someone rep'd me for starting this thread, this development has yet to materialize. In fact, it may never come to pass, if the binding agreement we have heard about in this thread is true. We had been given plenty of reason to hope for an IMAX theatre at Hollywood 20, yet it unfortunately fell victim to the weakened national economy.
