I heard there was a snafu with the DD in downtown, something about mold problems in the loose lucy's building, I could be wrong but thats the downtown rumor, I hope they move in anyway, I have a DD on my way to work but having one in downtown would be even better!
we should really get back on topic, however hilarious this might be

The building has mold problems as well as something else. Someone had been neglecting and ignoring it for a while I think, but either way it should be cleaned up and DD is supposed to open in November I think.

How many incidents have there actually been?
And why are you assuming that the kids don't have any money and that they are "thugs"? Seems kind of stereotypical to me as I see kids of all economic and social status when I'm downtown.

I know these kids a lot better than you do as I went through the same faze. They are there to "represent their set" not spend money, hence the reason for the fights. "Thugs wanna be's" pants hanging, gold teeth, usually trying to duplicate rap videos and appear tougher than they really are. You might not understand if this was never you reality from your suburban home. Its been mine before and its theirs now. Thank God I grew out that crap and decided to become somebody. Such a waste of air and time.

What a shame! My hubby and I loved your downtown. I can't imagine having anyone disturbing the area. We are thinking of moving to Greenville because of how clean and nice everything is! Also, the people that we met are so friendly and it was a pleasure staying there. Please don't let a bunch of rejects or whatever they are come and think they can own the place. That is what happens here at the Mall, dressed with their low pants, gold teeth and ugly distractive clothes and walk like you have to move out of the way.
Maybe if you attack the situation early it won't spread to more incidents. I understand being young and getting bored but from being bored to creating an unpleasant surrounding it's totally different. This makes it uncomfortable for people like us that do not agree with this kind of behavior! Let's keep Greenville pretty and peaceful!
More cops downtown will help!

How dare you make ASSumptions about me and where I am from (although that seems to be the mantra of your "set")? Making stereotypical comments about what you perceive only furthers your own agenda to take anyone different from your Norman Rockwell fantasy land and cast them away as rejects trying to make trouble.
Alas, my original questions have still not been answered:
1. Why mention riots in the title if there, in fact, have not been any?
2. What is the frequency of these fights? I'm thinking if they are every weekend, the "news" would have been all over it.
You are now clear to close this thread.
P.S. If you want to see some real thugs, I'd be more then happy to take you to the West Side of Chicago.
P.P.S. The West Side ain't in the suburbs...

Is the thread about riots in Falls Park or is the thread about Dunkin Donuts?
