As far as bars go in the downtown area, i'm very fond of Smileys acoustic cafe(but not on the weekends, super crowded)The Casbah(I know everyone there so its a given)City Tavern(known as tassies by the locals) and Meatheads(good local place). keep in mind these places(besides meatheads) serve food til 2 am as well.
Restaurants, there is almost an endless selection, there is a best restaurants thread somewhere around here, search it

I would supply links to websites, but for some reason we can't do that anymore, so if you want info about any of these places PM me and i'll be happy to help

As far as good bar food goes, I have to vote the following:

Downtown: Corner Pocket (I don't miss the grey carpet and low ceilings at all)

Not Downtown: Bubba Annie's. Love the food.

Coming Soon: Quaker Steak & Lube. Can't wait....

That's too funny!!!!!

When I get some work up there, I'll come up with a cocktail and name it "THE UNDERGROUND". Only C-D users can order it.

Someone else can come up with a secret handshake!

My wife and I went to the Casbah the last time we were in town- we really enjoyed it! A little different, but great food and wine, esp. if you just want a nosh rather than a huge dinner.

The Casbah is great. I remember reading something recently about them opening up a location in Greer. Anyone know if that's still a go?
