From what I know of Lake Robinson, I don't think they allow swimming...something about some kind of duck itch thing awhile ago? I'm pretty sure it has been cleaned up since then, but a lot of people in Greenville area paranoid about waste getting into the Reedy river and surrounding lakes. Other than that, it is BEAUTIFUL and a great place to live. I have some friends who live on the shore, the lake is pretty much their back yard. They have their own pier and awesome balcony views of the lake. It is very quiet, the neighbors are great, from what I can tell. It's like a small close-knit town outside all the noise of the "big" city.

In addition to all of the above comments the lake is very convenient to Greer and the Taylors area. It is also only twenty minutes to downtown Greenville, if you travel the back roads and stay off Highway 29. As a matter of fact, I live near Paris Mountain State Park and can be at Lake Robinson in only ten minutes. There are several nice developments going up right now, one being Stillwaters at Lake Robinson and another called Lakeside at Blue Ridge Plantation. By the way, the lake supplies water to the Greer area, not to the Greenville area.

I found some more photos of Lake Robinson that I took a few weeks back for those who are interested:
