Tell me about the Lake Robinson area please. Are there flooding issues in that area. Is the lake "healthy" and good for fishing and boating? How is the commute to G'ville proper? Schools? Thank you!
Any Photos from the great G'ville photogs?

Here are a few photos of Lake Robinson shot in May of 2008 during my first visit to the Greenville area. I now live here and am happy to have such a beautiful, peaceful place so close to home. Somewhere I have a few more pics that are more recent. I'll try to hunt them up.

The Lake Robinson area is beautiful. The Lake itself is very clean and is actually part of the water supply system for the Greenville area. I've heard that fishing is good at times (though my husband never seems to have any luck!)

I live very near Lake Robinson and work in downtown Greenville. During "non-school" times, the commute is about 25 minutes. When school is in session, it's 30-35 minutes.

Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions about the area.

Fun,

Lake Robinson is about 30 minutes from downtown Greenville. If you look at a map and find Greer, it's northwest of Greer . . . on the map, it looks long and skinny

Thanks for the compliment on my photos.

The first time I went to Lake Robinson, I was with others and not paying attention to how we got there. When I tried it on my own, I got only so far and then had to stop and ask for directions the rest of the way. I was told, "turn right at the brown fence at the horse farm." There were no signs that I saw pointing the way.

One thing that's there and that was not in my photos is a big building/shelter with a huge veranda. There are washrooms, too.

It's a great place to go on a picnic if you're not into fishing. During the week at times, there is hardly a soul there. For me, it's like a mini-vacation in the country, but only a short drive from home. You gotta love it!

Beautiful lake! No large boats allowed, and no swimming areas, but public picnic area is nice, with an awesome view! Property owners along the shore are not allowed to clear tree path wider than that needed to get to their dock, so you don't see much of the homes situated on the lake. With only small fishing and sail boats allowed the water generally looks smooth as glass. There are quite a few new developments all around the lake going up now. Many with walking trails right to the lake.

I would like to know if people are allowed to use raffs with paddles on the Lake? I would like to take my son raffing on a smooth lake.
