Just read this on the Greenville News website. Greenville County is looking to add another headquarters. The company's North American headquarters. It should add 1000 jobs. Way to go Greenville! The name of the company is undisclosed at this time.

I heard that this has a really good likelihood of happening. I wouldn't say it's a "done deal," but it's supposedly ours for the taking. Anyone else heard the same?

I also heard there is a huge chance we will be winning the bid on this. I really hope we do. If we could get a couple companys headquarters here, and it will really help Greenville turn a corner in the corporate world

Plus, the number of jobs a company estimates often turns out to be less than reality. I know that BMW has hired many more people than they originally estimated.

Depending on the sector, this new HQ could also generate more jobs for their suppliers (which would hopefully be local).

Where do you all get your "inside" information? I'm really curious because it seems everyone here is "in the know" about a lot of things that haven't happened yet...

A lot of it shows up in the paper or on websites such as greenvilleonline.com. Sometimes word just gets around too, I hear stuff from my dad every now and then. He knows a lot of people so he hears some stuff...usually it's me that informs him of stuff because of city-data and urban planet though. I guess you can go to city council meetings or whatever too...I'm not really sure about that as I have never done it.

So they are giving out confidential information about a company that wants to remain secret? That sounds like it could turn some people off.
