Default Williamston

My husband and I have found a home in Williamston we are considering buying. Could anyone tell me about the area? I have done a little research and according to Greatschools it has a great school district. I have two young children ages 8 and 2. Also where do most people shop, as I don't see much in that immediate area besides the BILO in Pelzer and a few convience stores. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not too much help here because I'm not really familiar with that area, but as far as shopping goes Anderson is just under 15 miles away and Greenville is around 22 miles. Anderson has a lot of stores and restaurants and looks like it would be a lot easier/faster to get to than Greenville.

I live in Pelzer right outside the town of Williamston. Palmetto is a very good school and is part of the Anderson School District One. Here is the deal on shopping in williamston, there is not much. The Bilo in West Pelzer is the only grocery store in the area besides going to bloom on hwy 81 or wal-mart in Anderson. They are trying to recruit a new grocery store to go into the old winn-dixie shopping center in the center of town, but I don't know how much success they have had. Other resturants and stores include: Dollar General, Hardee's, McDonalds, Burger King, Little Caesars Pizza, Taco Bell, KFC, the Clock, Subway, Pizza Pro, Peebles, Ace Hardware, Fred's, BB&T, Suntrust, CVS, Eckards, some Mexican Resturants, chinese buffets, and a lot of gas stations (there must be 20 in about 5 miles). The town is trying to improve main st. will new sidewalks, street lamps, street relocation, etc. and will be a large improvement. The only newspaper that really covers the area besides the Anderson Independent is the Williamston Journal: Alot of good info can be found on their website: TheJournal Online Make sure you read under the link "Front Page News". Williamston also goes to HWY81/I-85 so it also includes the Waffle house, another KFC, Charlie T's on 81 and the New Walgreens Distribution center for the entire southeast. Good luck in your search and if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Williamston is a pretty small town not much there. So if you like small towns then that will be a great choice for you. I don't know much about it. But if you do move here one thing I always like too do that you will get a kick out of is the light people in Pelzer. They put on a show every x-mas The houses go all out with lights and such and the people do as well lol. It is pretty funny to go if you have never been. I go just about every year.

Williamston is as snooty as they come. People here are $$$ and thats it!! They hate newcomers and will harrass you every chance they get. Police know the people who know the docs who know the crackhead whos dad is head Chief in police. SCARY? yeah You cant negotiate. They know you are not from here
