Maybe I'm reading this wrong or maybe they made a mistake, but I was looking at the top college rankings for 2009 in the U.S. News and World report and they had Clemson ranked at #61. Like I said, maybe I'm not reading it right.
Number 22 in what? Public Universities? How do their academic programs match up?
22 sounds more like their BCBS standings at the end of the football season.
P.S. Does anyone else find it ironic that there are spelling errors in an article about an academic institution?
It says in the first sentence that they're ranked 22nd of national public universities. Clemson is a very good school...football isn't everything, you know.

I agree, it was a dig at their football team.
I still don't get it though. The article didn't really go in to specifics on what they were ranked so high on, other then a public university. What were the areas looked at?
I have nothing against the college or football team, just pointing out that the article on greenvilleonline might not have been correct. According to this, Clemson was ranked 61st. It really doesn't matter, just wondered where they got their information.

There are 2 different catagories. One for best national universities (61) and they have another catagory for best public universities (22). My daughter is a student at Clemson, and she has heard that their goal is to break into the top 20 for public universities.
I am frequently disappointed by the poor quality of spelling and grammar in the Greenville News / GreenvilleOnline.com. Another problem I occasionally find is the mislabeling of photos. Sure this is nitpicky, but it does get under my skin once in awhile.

Thanks for clearing that up, I didn't realize there were 2 categories either.
