This thread is pretty humorous...I don't see complaining about the lack of shopping options in Greenville as offensive or promoting/defending another city...Haywood Mall has what it has...and it does not fit everyone's tastes or preferences...that is a simple fact of life you can't please everyone all the time... and for the post by Moton...seriously...since when does complaining add up to telling someone to move back to the "big cold city"...have you considered that Drizzle simply may have different tastes in shopping than you...and wished that maybe Greenville had the same things... where is your southern hospitality?

Oh...I guess your hospitality is sitting in the traffic on Woodruff road wishing you would move… because from perusing these boards occasionally I have noticed most "regulars" complain about traffic on Woodruff Road...should everyone just move because they complain? Should Sonrise go back to LA because he wants more sidewalks?

Your logic makes me tired…just accept that Greenville has flaws, is definitely not utopia…and people will complain…how would things get better anywhere if people were not free to express dissatisfaction?

I have to say while I don't want to downplay Greenville(I love it here) I think this poster is right, people have a right to their opinions. Some people like super high end stores that Greenville doesn't offer(yet), that doesn't mean there's something wrong with Greenville, its just their favorite brands of clothing are harder to find in the area, maybe that's a big deal to them, maybe its not. (I shop at Tj Maxx, Ross and Marshalls most of the time )
I'm not all that concerned at all with what stores Greenville has, nor would I be worried about comparing it to any other cities retail shopping choices. I've never had a hard time finding what I needed so Greenville's shopping is quite adequate IMO.
I think the whole my city vs your city argument is pretty silly, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" right?

P.S. the traffic on Woodruff isn't really that bad compared to some major cities I have lived in, however woodruff has the worst traffic light timing anywhere in town, which causes it to jam up quite a bit. And all the good stores are out there so its always busy.

If everything a person post is negative I will say what I please to that person. Show me any post from this person that is positive about the area. Does Greenville have flaws? Yes! Do they have the right leadership working on the few and I quote "few" problems? Yes! Most will still agree that it is one of the best mid-sized cities in the south. As do I. My utopia smack dab between Atlanta and Charlotte, the mountains and the beach. Just like other opinions are voiced I will voice mine too and you guys can't and won't stop that! But don't move somewhere and focus on negative when it has much, much more positive attributes. I mean, I wouldn't move to somewhere like McCormick knowing its one of the most rural areas in the state and complain about anything there, because I have the info and I know I wouldn't be happy there.

This is the post that got me going. I've been to Augusta a lot, and I promise you that Greenville is just overall better including Haywood against Augusta mall. Why didn't any of you flamers say anything to this post? You jumped on me for defending Greenville, a place that you live in everyday.

Oh Moton...like I stated before you can't please everyone all the time...it is YOUR uptopia...not everyone's!

Like Noodles pointed out Drizzle is not slamming Greenville, he's just criticizing the shopping options which happen not to fit his individual style...Drizzle has stated he shops elsewhere...and why do you take it so personally that people don't like Greenville's shopping options...hey, I will throw this one out...I think Greenville's shopping options are terrible and....ooooo...I too shop elsewhere...who cares that I don't like Greenville shopping?

From the sounds of your previous posts in this forum you are perfectly happy here and that is wonderful...however; there are people who are not perfectly happy here...and as you stated, you will proudly proclaim your side and hey there...maybe you should let others have their say as well, whether it is negative or postive...

Why are you so against people having a "negative opinion"? ...face it, not everyone loves Greenville...so back to square one again with you...your logic is tiresome...so round and round, here we go again...

Again, everyone that is disgruntled with Greenville should leave?!
Or maybe they shouldn't have moved here in the first place?!

Have you ever stopped to consider that people don't always choose to move somewhere...or everything appears okay on a visit, then things go awry once they live there? There's that old saying you can't judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes...that is very true for cities...two to three days in a town, internet research, and all the statistics you can shake a stick at do not give a true picture of day to day life in a city...

So please, don't tell me Greenville has "few" problems...becuase maybe that is true for you...but it isn't true for everyone...

Try saying "you say 'to-may-to'... I say 'to-mah-to" to yourself when you forget people see things differently....

Man, that was a lot of writing. I just get frustrated when people flame me for speaking up for my home. Let me ask you this since you are the expert and I'm not. Does complaining on a forum improve these things that others are complaining about? If someone came in your house complaining, wouldn't you ask them to leave? Do you really believe in this free country we can't live where we want to? I moved here by full choice. Do you believe a person is wrong for standing up for his/her city, state, country? Maybe people should just count their blessing right? So you say my logic is tiresome, is your logic not tiresome? Isn't that just another opinion? Your logic makes me tired too, so I assume that it makes everyone tired right? If I didn't like someone or their logic and I felt it was making me tired I would just quit reading and responding, then I choose not to be tired. You agree?

Any CONFIRMED news regrading upscale shopping developments for Greenville/Upstate? (I hear Magnolia Park *may* get a Trader Joe's and some other upscale retail.)

I'm confused, it seems like the post you are referring to is a local topic.

Well, i'm posting from Lenox Square in Atlanta currently so....

I'm not even sure what we're arguing about. I'm too lazy to go through and read all of these posts. This is Greenville which is smaller than Atlanta or Charlotte. We're not supposed to have these high-end retailers yet. If you want that currently then move to those cities.
