The OP referred to rednecks in an insultive way. There are rednecks everywhere, all different kinds, good and bad.

First of all, having that flag doesn't make you a redneck.
I didn't know they had 18-wheelers in the Civil War. Slavery was not the only issue in the Civil War. Please do some research instead of using whatever was written by winners and printed in your history book.

A lot of people are so scared of being deemed a "redneck" if they are a Southerner so they try to distance themselves from their roots. There are rednecks in every part of the country. I'm sure everyone has a little redneck in them anyway.
|
Edit: Let's not start thinking that everyone in the northern part of the county or in rural areas are rednecks.

If your porch collapses and kills more than 3 dogs you are a redneck .... If you cut your grass and find more than 2 cars you are a redneck .... If you have ever taken a six pack to a job interview you are a redneck .... If you goto your family reunion to pick up chicks you are a redneck.... If you wreck your pickup truck to get insurance money to make a truck payment your are a redneck.. If your daddy walks you to school because you are in the same grade you are a redneck... If your 401K plan includes your nascar collectible plates and powerball you are a redneck .. lighten up people even us rednecks can laugh at ourselves..

why? they are the same as country folk down here, trust me i'm from upstate ny and I grew up in a rural area more country than alot of towns around here, it consisted of a post office, a farm, and maybe 15 houses, thats it. Yeah we might not have had the accent, but not much was different, and I know a few people around there who I might dub with the term "redneck"

Funny, the OP has only made four posts -all in this thread. He hasn't logged on since that day, 10/6/08.

I said counTY not counTRY.
I'm not saying anything against them. I'm just saying that not everyone in a rural area or in the northern part of Greenville County is a redneck.
Of course, there are rednecks in every state.
