I heard, and I am absolutely thrilled. Maybe my team will actually win now. Cullen Harper, the quarterback, said that most of the players dont listen to Tommy and do not respect him. I guess it is better that he is gone.

I heard he re-signed his position, not fired. But I guess it doesnt make a difference anyway.
Honestly, even though I'm not a Clemson fan, it doesn't surprise me.

I heard from a student at Clemson that he stepped down. Either way...thank goodness he's finally gone. He may have been a decent coach, but he couldn't motivate the team at all.

Maybe a dumb q?
...according to the gville news today, Bowden will receive "...a 3.5 million buyout over six years". If someone resigns his position, why would he get a buyout? Isn't the contract void when someone resigns?

haha, since when have you heard of a div-1 football coach resigning mid season. Its an unimportant issue, and its basically splitting hairs over cement. He's gone and thats whats important.

I heard the buyout was part of an agreement to get him to step down midseason. I guess they wanted to pay the price, so as to hopefully not lose anymore.

Well...this passed week? I'm not saying he stepped down completely on his own, but he wasn't fired. I'm sure he was "convinced" to leave.

I believe terry don phillips and the big IPTAY donors drew the line during the beginning of this season. They told Tommy that he has to at least get to the ACC title game, or he is done. All hopes of that was smashed with the wake forest loss.
