Since Costco opened in Spartanburg I can tell you a ton of people I know go to their food court for lunch to get a jumbo hot dog and soda for under $2.00. I had one the other day and it was definitely a JUMBO dog and very tasty.
I was also a big fan of the Chicago Dog at the place that closed recently at the Westgate Mall...I'll have to check out the stand in downtown Gville now. Taco Dog in the Hillcrest shopping area of Spartanburg is a popular hot dog/burrito place--but unfortunately they really don't do their Chicago Dog the proper way. But still worth a try for one of their other dogs.

Was in downtown Greenville the other day and looked for it but didn't see it. I thought it was on Washington and Main, but which side of Main?

We're on the Sticky Fingers side of Main on the corner where Nuvox is. We have been retooling our cart getting ready for Spring and haven't been there nearly as often as I would like recently. We will be back up and running full-time this coming Monday.

Thanks, Downtown Dogs. Will definitely keep an eye out for you next week!. There's nothing like spring in Greenville AND a Chicago-style hog dog!

Does anyone know how many hot dog carts are on Main St. on an average day? The last time I was on Main St. during lunch hour was a several years ago and there used to be just one on Main & McBee. Now I hear it is close to four carts usually stretching from the Hyatt to the Gville News building.
As a lover of Chicago Hot Dogs I will be on the lookout for that vendor next time I am downtown fairly soon.

If anyone's reading this from the Greater Cincinnati area that's looking for a Cincinnati Cheese Coney you'll have to check this out. There is a place in Simpsonville near the clock tower on Main Street that makes them. It's not exactly the same since they use a Nathan Hotdog instead of a small dog and bun and the shreaded cheddar cheese isn't the same but I hear they're good either way.
The reason I say "I hear" is because I haven't been able to try one first hand yet due to some jaw surgery since we discovered the resturant so I'm on an all liquid diet right now.

Mine is in Powdersville off Exit 40 on I-85. Just down the road and a little left is an awesome place called Phat Dogs. They haven't gotten tons of publicity, but their food is killer. All beef kosher hot dogs with homemade chili, sweet tea, super chocolately brownies and great chicken salad sandwiches, too. It is legendary among my group of friends and we gladly make the 30 minute trip to get there every so often. Not to mention to rock 'n' roll environment, which is great.

For a great dog in Greenville, DAWG'S on Pelham (the one @ Blacks Rd) is really good. My personal fave is up in Cleveland (above Travelers Rest heading towards Caesar's Head) called F-Mart .... YUM!

Maybe it's already been discussed, but is there anywhere that has a good "healthy" beef hot dog? Avoiding the nitrites typically found in hot dogs is important to me, as they have been linked to stomach cancer. I know that you can buy such nitrite-free beef wieners at the supermarket, but I have never found any in restaurants or hot dog stands. In fact, it's hard enough finding a beef wiener at a restaurant, much less one without nitrites.
