Question The Best Upstate Hot Dog

Where do you go to get your hot dog fix? What's the best hot dog joint in town?

Mine is in Powdersville off Exit 40 on I-85. Just down the road and a little left is an awesome place called Phat Dogs. They haven't gotten tons of publicity, but their food is killer. All beef kosher hot dogs with homemade chili, sweet tea, super chocolately brownies and great chicken salad sandwiches, too. It is legendary among my group of friends and we gladly make the 30 minute trip to get there every so often. Not to mention to rock 'n' roll environment, which is great.

Default Any excuse for a good dog...

There's a hot dog place on Pelham (@ Black's Rd.) that looks promising. I drive by it all the time but haven't stopped yet. Maybe I'll have to, so I can report back to this thread.

This one is close to where I live. I drive by it all the time and haven't stopped either, but I can tell you it's VERY popular.

Default Spartanburg Hotdogs

Weenieheads on Oak Grove Road in Spartanburg is very popular. So is Boots and Sonny's on Henry Street.

Miami Grill at Heron Circle has so called Chicago-style hotdogs.

Heron Circle is off of Business I-85 in Spartanburg. It is Asheville Highway.

Thanks, Kowulz. Will make a note of it for next time I'm in Spartanburg (which will also be the first time). Always good to know where a Chicago-style hot dog can be obtained in case I get a bout of homesickness.

I hear the hot dog vendor at the corner of Main St. and Washington St. in downtown Greenville serves Chicago-style hot dogs.

There is also a new place in Westgate Mall that sells Nathan's hot dogs in a variety of ways including Chicago style. They also have ice cream. Yum!
