Clemson, SC and Oconee County are a great area for families. However, the commute to Greenville is about 40 minutes one-way. Clemson is small - larger town amenities are in Seneca just 10 minutes to the west. Of course, do a search for Clemson - but I'm not really sure there is that much info here (also, search for "Seneca" and "Oconee County").

As far as I know, crime is not a big factor in Clemson. You have a lot of professors, retired University employees, and students living in the City of Clemson. There are very few seedy areas.

And, once we get some more rain, Lake Hartwell will be a great asset!

I currently attend Clemson University. If you have more questions I can try to help.

Clemson is a college town mostly. It's not too far from Anderson for better shopping. Anderson is better than Seneca. I live in the Seneca area and it doesn't have much to offer for shopping. Seneca has Wal-mart, some restaurants. Depends on what you're really looking for. But Anderson has more shopping, more eating and stuff. Greenville is great for a lot more. The commute from Clemson to Greenville isn't too bad really.

Clemson is just small. There's more jobs in Greenville than in Seneca. We're having bad economy here when it comes to jobs, unless you're in the medical field, then you might be alright.

Which had a record 1.8 million riders last year, according to an article today from The Greenville News.

Clemson is currently working hard on improvements to Hwy 123. They've moved the sidewalks off the street and added grass in between, and they have installed very nice light fixtures. Clemson has been working hard over the last several years to really up its image and quality of life.

clemson is nice but like the others have said, it is mainly a college town and it's pretty crowded during the school year. it's a small town and you definitely have to drive to anderson or greenville if you want to shop at a mall (that is, if you're wanting clothes that don't say clemson on it, haha). anderson is about a 15 min. drive and about 40 min. to g'ville. if you're wanting somewhere that's not greenville but still close, definitely check into anderson. you'll be close to clemson, within 20 min. of greenville (if you live off exit 27), and near anderson's mall, movies, the lake, etc. but i should say, i am so biased - i love anderson!
