Downtown, state parks, BMW Zentrum museum, zoo, Heritage Green area, etc. Check out the Greenville CVB's website for more. For an indoor pool, I recommend staying at the Drury Inn and Suites at the intersection of Woodruff Road and I-85. This is centrally located, is affordable, and has gotten very good reviews.

You didn't say whether you were bringing kids with you or not. That would make a difference in my suggestions. Either way, you definitely do not want to miss the beautiful Falls Park at the end of Main Street in the West End.

Something fun to do with a little one is to find the Mice on Main. Go to the chamber of Commerce on Main St. and tell them you want to find the mice. They will give you a clue sheet, then you can walk up Main Street looking for the mice statues. Also on Main Street are the Mast General Store (my kids love the candy section) and O.P.Taylor's (toy store).
The zoo is perfect for the younger crowd (not too large). Right outside the entrance to the zoo is a terrific playground. There is also a play area in the mall (1st floor, near Dillard's).

That is the Greenville CVB Visitors Center, which is the correct place to ask about the Mice on Main. The Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce is located on Cleveland Street, basically on the edge of downtown. Here is a map of downtown, for more information.

Skyliner - Thanks for the correct place for the Mice on Main information. I can picture the building in my mind, but obviously I didn't know exactly what/who was there! I think my boys were about about 4 and 1 the first time we looked for the mice. They had a great time.
Studyin'2Show - Yes, the Haywood Mall. It is on the first floor. However, it might be in front of Belk, not Dillards. I don't go to the mall very often, but I noticed it there the last time I went. It is definitely tucked out of the way.
