Default nightlife/meeting people in greenville

HEY THERE!

My boyfriend and I are moving to greenville this summer. We dont know ANYONE there, but that is what is kind of exciting. Is there alot of opportunities to meet people in that area (ages 23-30) I know dowtown greenville is all new and has alot of restaurants and things like that, so I am thinking it should be okay.

And, does anyone know the average age of people living in greenville? Is it mainly younger adults, or older (retirement) people?

Hope to hear from someone soone

Here is a break down of the demographics:

This is from 2000, but it is still relevant. I feel there are still more younger folks (25-35) around rather than older. I see more people my age around than I do older folks. Esp around downtown.

We're in the same situation as you - planning to move there this summer but we don't know anyone there. I'm actually visiting right now and was in Greenville today, and I LOVED it! I'm feeling very optimistic about the move. Downtown is great, lots of restaurants/bars/things to do. Almost everyone I saw was in the 25-35 age range. But as far as how/where specifically to meet people, I'd like suggestions for that too.

Another thing I forgot to mention... a great time to meet and greet people is at Downtown Alive. This happens weekly in downtown Greenville. Every Thursday night you can go down there and they close off Main St. and you can walk and get drinks and listen to bands and take the kids and have a lot of fun. They also have something on Friday nights also. They'll bring in bouncy castles for the kids and have a small street fair type of setting. All of this begins in the spring and ends in the fall. It's a great way to get out and meet the locals and hear the local bands and mingle.

Meeting people is probably easier in Greenville than anywhere I've been. If you see someone you find interesting talk to them. 9 times out of 10 they'll be nice. I've never had any problems making friends in G'ville.
