...winter storm watch in effect from this evening through tuesday
morning...

The national weather service in greenville-spartanburg has issued
a winter storm watch...which is in effect from this evening
through tuesday morning.

A strong low pressure center will move south of the area tonight.
Precipitation will develop from west to east this evening. As
temperatures fall...rain will quickly change to snow. Periods of
heavy snowfall are expected after midnight. There is still some
uncertainty on the timing and location of the heaviest snow. Right
now...the heavies snow is expected to be generally along and to
either side of interstate 85 late tonight and early tuesday. 2 to
4 inches of snow is expected from greenville and laurens north and
east to charlotte...monroe...salisbury...statesville and
mocksville. Heavy snow is also possible over brevard and
hendersonville tonight.

A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant
snow...sleet...or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

I find it strange that people run to get milk and bread. I never change anything. We have got to stop overreacting in the south. What good is milk and bread anyway if you don't have anything else to eat? We don't drink lots of milk in my household or use much bread. We wouldn't die without it! And whats 2 to 4 inches of snow? I see more wrecks when it rains around here.

Default Help! It's going to snow...

We are already getting calls about what to do if snow collapses something (we are an insurance agency). Amazing. I personally always run to the store for Moose Tracks icecream and Dr. Pepper.

Yeah, Accweather has Simpsonville at an 86% chance for 1.5 inches overnight tonight. As for "what's 2-4 inches", a lot in any area without plows or salt.

1.5 inches could easily melt and dry by mid-day, but 4 inches would partially melt and refreeze the following night. I can't remember how long motonenterprises has been here, but if you think people wreck a lot in the rain around here, just wait until there's snow or ice!

As for milk and bread, I never understood that.

Y'all really should run to get your bread and milk cause you never know you might get stranded in your house for two weeks from the blizzards that we get here. Oh to bad the milk spoiled and the bread is moldy, should have gotten gatorade and crackers.

Bread and Milk? I worry about the power going out for days on end, but not about being snowed in and running out of food.

I know what you mean ckeegan. I've lived in South Carolina all of my life. Wonder why we just won't slow down? We already have the highest fatality in the state.
