Default Getting rid of direct tv antenna

So when we bought our house - there was this pretty new direct tv antenna that we have no use for.

Husband tried to call company to see if they wanted it and all he could get was an endless loop requiring and acct number we don't have because we don't have the service or an aggressive salesperson trying to sell us direct tv which we don't want.

I hate throwing away something that is probably pretty expensive.

I just want to get rid of it - suggesions? - I already see a bunch on craigslist and am a bit concerned about selling something that is probably owned by the company [or do we own it?]

Are you talking about a direct tv dish? I believe that is yours. When we had it in florida and then moved they told us to leave it in our old house and they would give us a new one. I think it is there way to try to gain a new customer possibly with the new home owner. You could always take it down and place it in your shed or garage in case.

It would cost Direct TV more money to come and take down the dish than it is worth.

It belongs to you now and you can do whatever you want with it.

It's not worth much, maybe in the $25-30 range. You can probably give it away but that's about it. Some people with RV's will get an extra dish so they can put it in a concrete filled plant pot with a small pipe and use it while on the road. All they need to do is take the box with them from home.

Thanks - I was not figuring it was worth much - just wanted to find a use for that so I can give it to someone with an RV if they want it - good idea. I am just trying to declutter
