Tell me about it. I get off this exit almost everyday seeing how I live off of Highway 153 and people stop quite often when they're not supposed to. It truly is amazing how dumb people are. They can't even read the damn signs that are there.
There is an exit like that coming off Business 40 (near my former home) in downtown Winston-Salem. Used to drive me crazy to sit behind people who thought they had to yield or stop... 90% of the time there wasn't any oncoming traffic anyway.
Not only that, but the exit lane is not NEARLY long enough to handle rush hour traffic. People exiting are forced to pull off on the shoulder to get out of the road. The Pelham Road exit is the same way when heading on I-85 North. This could have been prevented if the geniuses at SCDOT had not decided to terminate an entire line less than a mile from the Pelham exit. Duh!

I still haven't figured out to this day why they didn't continue the fourth lane to the Pelham Road exit on I-85 northbound like they did between Pleasantburg Drive and Haywood Road on I-385.
I wouldn't blame the drivers for slowing and stopping. It is a natural reaction, even with the "keep moving" sign posted. This is yet another major SCDOT screw-up. Fortunately it isn't causing wrecks, but I understand the headache for people either stuck on the exit ramp or trying to cross S.C. 153 as they enter or leave the restaurants and gas stations in the immediate vicinity.
