Default Any former Ohio Buckeye's in Greenville Area?

Would like to communicate with former Ohio residents in the Hickory area regarding their relocation experience.

We just moved to Simpsonville, SC - Greenville suburbia - from Lancaster,Ohio (southeast of Columbus,OH). Have been here 3 weeks. Have already met some other Ohio folks in our subdivision. We like it so far. Our kids are adjusting to school fine. Everyone seems friendly.
One thing different, is the real estate market. We took a loss in Ohio. But home prices are still pretty stable here it seems.
Good Luck with your move south. It is a pretty area, nice folks, lots of transplants.

I'm over in the midlands right now but I hope to be up that way by this time next year. You'll know when I get there because I'll be the one with OSU stickers on my car (I grew up in southeast OH around Marietta).

Wow I posted that in April! So much has changed! We finally sold a home in the middle of nowhere Georgia & ended up buying a home in Anderson, SC instead of Hickory, NC & love it! At the time of that post we weren't sure where we were going LOL.

my in-laws moved down to Greenville from Ohio about 7 years ago. There was a definite adjustment period and they still feel out-of-place at times, but for the most part they've become acclimated to the area. People seem to be very nice down there, and (most) of the neighbors have welcomed them even though they are "yankees".

I'm an OH transplant also, and have fellow buckeye fans coming to visit the weekend of the Michigan game. Anyone know any bars that might be highlighting that game or have the sound on???? Go Bucks!
