Where should we start looking in Greenville?
Hope you guys can steer us in the right direction. We are relocating to Greenville and will be looking for a single family home to rent. We'll probably be driving down next weekend to have our first look-around.
If I could have everything I want, it would be:
1. A quiet neighborhood with mature trees.
2. At least 2000 square feet on one level.
3. Fenced back yard.
4. 3/2
5. Updated kitchen and baths.
6. Good running and walking areas.
7. Close to my husbands job which is near I 85 & Global Drive.
8. $1,500 or less per month rent.
So far, I like what I've seen on the net about the area and your town. Thanks so much for any suggestions.

Not sure where you are coming from, but from CT the pictures and "net search" did NOT line up with reality at all.
I enjoyed places in Georgia and NC much better.

JViello, Thank you for your opinion. Please don't post any more. Now, anyone else with suggestions for neighborhoods, zip codes, subdivisions that sound like what we would like? Thank you.

Check out these neighborhoods. All have mature trees, most are close to downtown, have good walking / jogging abilities (the greenway system runs through some) and all should have e fun houses for rent, though pricing may vary.
North Main
Cleveland Park
Overbrook
Augusta Street
Hampton Pinckney
Chick Springs

I recently noticed several nice homes for rent along Faris Road and around the Augusta Street area. Although I am unsure what the monthly rates would be, those are all nice streets with plenty of established trees and mostly well maintained older homes. Lots of people run and walk in these neighborhoods, many of them run up Augusta Street into Downtown and then back. Cleveland Park and the river walk are just a short distance from these areas and easily accessible on foot. It is a very popular place to run and walk as well - especially since the latest additions to the trail have been completed, extending the mileage by a considerable amount already. Other significant improvements are planned for the trail between Falls Park and Cleveland Park.
Here are a couple of photos from a portion of the river walk in Cleveland Park:

It doesn't get much more real than that!

Skyline and gsupstate, thank you for your very helpful replies. Now I can start checking the newpaper and rental sites on the net for those areas. Skyline, your photos are wonderful! So pretty. Will take the time soon to check out more of your flicker pics. (Posting quietly so that maybe JViello won't hear me!)
