Default Schools in the Taylors/Greer area

My family is relocating to Greenville County. My son is very involved in his current high school marching band. I found that Blue Ridge HS has a top rated marching band, so we plan to live in the attendance area of that school. I've read through other treads but all I see are comments about Eastside & Riverside HS. I'm not finding comments about Blue Ridge HS. How does Blue Ridge compare to the other Taylors/Greer high schools?
Also, can you explain the "magnet" schools in Greenville County? Are they in low income areas? How do they differ from traditional public schools? Is Skyland Elem. a magnet school?

I am a band mom and I think your choice of BRHS is excellent. I've been outside of the competitions the last 2 years but if memory serves correctly they have done well. Have you found a website for the band? Mauldin has one that is very well put together. Check out South Carolina Band Link which is the statewide site that you will find a lot of information from.
