I don't understand your post; GSP is us, GSO is Greensboro. It's obvious SW wants a second entry into the Carolinas, I guess we'll see who steps up to the plate.

I think UpstateBooster was saying that GSP is the obvious choice for Southwest, especially if they want to eliminate some gates at CLT.

Oh, ok, it was a really unclear post because he said, "hello, it's called GSP," after another poster mentioned Greensboro and GSO. Southwest isn't in Charlotte, they're only in Raleigh for all of the Carolina's, that's why we'd be ideal for them. We'd have catchment from Charlotte, Columbia as well as Asheville. Now it's up to the airport authority to step up.

Because my previous post wasn't clear - you know, a "Wow - I coulda had a V8!" moment.

Oh, okay, I apologize. I thought you were implying that I wasn't "getting it." Thanks for the clarification.

So, did we land Southwest Airlines yet? All talk and no action at GSP Airport continues. Oh and you guys will love this opinion piece: http://greenvilleonline.com/article/...303/1008/rss03 What an idiot. He doesn't even know the facts. Independence Air didn't leave because of a lack of service. They left because they filed for bankruptcy and ceased all operations. Oh and if GSP is too small for Southwest due to them using large planes only, I guess we're too small for Allegiant Air too which continues to expand in this area.

ROFL. In your dreams. First Charleston and now Greensboro. What's next? Columbia?

Agreed about GSP and Independence/Allegiant!

I'm just scratching my head about Southwest looking at GSO. Why there, when they're already just up the street at RDU? Insane. GSP is the geographic center of the hole in their route map that they're trying to fill, and can pull from both CLT and ATL. If this is true, I'm really wondering about the quality of Southwest's leadership.
