Default Best place to find granite or granite remnants?

Bought a Big Green Egg (Big Green Egg, World's Best Smoker and Grill) grill this past weekend, and will be building a table for it to put on my deck. I thought about going with a wood top, but then I thought, what about granite? If you're gonna do it, do it right.

I would just need a 57" x 27" piece with a 21" hole cut into it.

Any ideas, recommendations, etc?

Carolina Stone Works, 126 Odom Rd in Easley 29642. He usually has some good remnants and good prices. 220-2744. Ken is the owner.

Thanks for the tip. We need to replace one bathroom counter but don't want/can't spend a fortune. A remnant sounds like the answer. I think a home improvement forum for this area would be great. Where you could get advice about projects and recommendations on really good contractors, etc. Does anybody know of such a forum?

just make a short trip down to Elberton, GA just across the state line-about an hour outside greenville. It is the "Granite Capital of the World"---Seriously.

Cut out the middle man and go straight to the source. There are tons of granite stores, and you can actually get some of them to show you the cutting facilities.....its pretty neat to see the huge chunks that they start with.

I like the Georgia idea but we'd need the granite delivered and installed. Any thoughts on that?
