More unemployment for the upstate region. Yay: GSA Business | Greenville, SC | Spartanburg, SC | Anderson, SC Every upstate county had their unemployment rate increase from April to May. That's being progressive?

Not that it is not bad news, but the second to last paragraph puts it into a little different perspective than the headline might lead one to believe.

"About a third of the positions being eliminated were vacant at the beginning of the fiscal year when a hiring freeze took effect, university officials said. Others are temporary and contract positions or are filled by people who plan to retire at the end of June. Clemson offered two retirement-incentive programs to encourage attrition, and they were accepted by 77 employees, officials said."
