Default Sanford was in South America, not hiking.
Gov. Mark Sanford arrived in the Hartsville-Jackson International Airport this morning, having wrapped up a seven-day visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, he said. Sanford said he had not been hiking along the Appalachian Trail, as his staff said in a Tuesday statement to the media.

Sanford met in Atlanta after returning from South America - Local / Metro - The State

Yeah the story just broke in the New York Times. Left SC unattended, him and his staff lied to cover his whereabouts and he was really down in Argentina cheating on his wife!

Him and his staff members need to step down and if they don't then they should be forced to resign. This whole scandal is a disgrace!!

His staff did not lie, they told others what they had been told. So no you are incorrect his staff should not step down.
