Default Tennis in Greenville area?

I'm an avid USTA tennis player. I play on an adult team, a senior team and a super senior team. We are planning to move from Maryland to either the Greenville or Asheville areas when we retire; which will be in about two years or less. Is tennis a popular sport there? I love to also play with groups of women for some fun social tennis. My USTA rating is 3.5....for whatever that's worth .

Yes, tennis is a very active sport here. You could look into Holly Tree Country Club and Greenville Tennis Club. I know that they both have competitive team tennis.

A funny thing most locals probably don't know; the current USTA President, Lucy Garvin, lives here in Greenville. (more)

Nearby "Mayberry" - oops, I mean the quiet, small town of Belton - is home to the South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame and hosts annual state tournaments. It may be a good place to begin your search for more information.
