Solicatation Calls From Trooper Assciation On Cell Phone (home, living)

All of a sudden I am getting calls on my two cell phones soliciting money for the SC Troopers Assoc. 5 times in the last week. I asked where they got my number and they don't know. My number is published because of what I do for a living but my wife is getting calls on her phone and they are asking for me. Her phone is in my name.
We were some of the Alltel folks that were forced over to Verizon recently. I am wondering if they are selling their numbers.
Anyone else with this happening?

I'm getting these same calls, too - from them and "toll-free number" about 3-5 times a day. I've told the "SCTA" to take me off the list but to no avail. The federal "no-call" list is a joke. Almost time for "your Captain" to tell me I've won a cruise.

I haveVverizon and I haven't gotten any calls, of course that might be because the main acct. holder, my son, is in Billings, MT! <G> Can't you block them?

I did get a call at home and told them, the same as I tell all charity solicitors, that I do not do donations over the phone,

Yes! Its happening to me, but its on my home phone. I haven't had my home phone even a year and its supposed to be unlisted.

since i've been on the federal no call list i've never gotten another solicitation call, and they aren't supposed to be able to call your cell phone anyway, verizon doesn't sell their numbers to advertisers, i've been with them for 5+ years and never gotten a solicitation call on my cell

Thanks folks. Someone has sold my numbers and the FOP will not divulge who they got it from. They told me they are not subject to the Do Not Call Rule because they are a Non Profit (yeah right) organization. I told them to remove me from their call list and the person hung up on me. Funny thing is they have not called my home phone and it is listed.

I think my calls are actually from the FOP, I think it stands for the Fraternal Order of Police.

I've been with Verizon for a few years, and (luckily) have never gotten any telephone solicitation calls.

Be careful with this guy. He called me and I told him to send me some information. My wife was doing the bills and asked me why I pledged $25 to them. I never agreed to pay anything to them! Any other day and she would have paid it....
