Indigo Joes in Huntsville went out of business
http://www.city-data.com/forum/hunts...oes-close.html
I didn't even know Indigo Joes was a franchise. I thought the one here in Greenville was a stand alone place. Never been there but the menu looked..meh. Not sure how business is, anyone ever been there?

All in all, fun place, just know that you need to either eat before you go, or lower your expectation as regards food.

So the food is bad, even for bar food standards?

Do you guys know how business is on non football days? Does this store have a chance of closing down like the one in Huntsville did?
Just looked at their website. I didn't know they had this many locations.

Yes, their food is substandard even for bar food. The best bar food place I've found is Quaker Steak....their bar food is above average.

Everytime I've been in they are pretty busy. I think they are safe. They draw a good deal of business from the Drury Inn and Staybridge Suites as well. The fact that they have the onscreen trivia, with the remote units at your table, seems to bring a good deal of families. There is always some major sport in season...Golf, Basketball, Baseball, Nascar.....they have them all playing on the plasma screens.

Agreed; QS is good food. Dumb name (yes, I understand the play on words, it's still an awful name), good food.

I have never been impressed by Indigo Joes (food, atmosphere, etc), and it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they went out of business. However, I don't know that I consider Quaker Steak (certainly not a dumb name ) to be true bar food, unless you wanted to call it something like high-end bar food. I personally think the best "bar food" is Bubba Annie's or Baileys.
On another note, as a long-time QS fan, I was surprised to hear that the Greenville location has sold more wings per month for almost every month since they've been open. That's just amazing considering their locations in downtown Oakland (PITT campus) or their location in Coraopolis (north of Pittsburgh). Not to mention their locations in Heinz Field or PNC Park.

It is and it isn't a play on words, the first one was built in an old gas station in Sharon PA, and was some sort of "cook your own steak" restaurant, hence the name.(Quaker being the region it originated, steak being what they serve, and alcohol being the "Lube"). The wings caught on more than the steaks, so they stuck to what they did best. I don't think its a dumb name at all and its a multimillion dollar business, so they are doing something right.
