Smile Relocating to Greenville County from Ohio

My hubby, children, and I are relocating from a June and Ward Cleaver community to the Greenville area. We are looking for upscale neighborhoods from the $400's in Greenville, Simpsonville, or Greer that offer excellent community parks, pools, and public schools. Our children are 7 and 3. Please offer us some names of communities you would recommend. We are making our 2nd trip out to Greenville next week....... Thanks so much!

You may find Sycamore Ridge to your liking. Located in Simpsonville close to Ft. Inn. Easy access to I-385. Close to Bryson Elementary

You may want to try River Walk also. Beautiful neighborhood with walking trails, and a community pool.

What about subs like Kilgore, Kings Reserve, Montibello, Spaulding Farm? Which ones are your favorite? Also, what have you heard about Christ the King Christian School or Shannon Forest Christian? We have already interviewed with Southside and I felt it was too large for my 7 year old son. I appreciate your input.

You have listed some very nice and popular subdivisions. We have so many great subdivisions that it is hard to think of them all (especially at this time of night!) As far as the schools go, they all have very good reputations. I would recommend visiting the schools yourself and getting a "feel" for the schools and see which one suits you and your son the best. I don't know if this is much help or not. I recently had a client that did this and was very happy with her choice. She said that it was well worth the extra effort that it took. Best of luck with your search!!!!

One more thought, if time allows, is to find the school first. Then you can ask the school what are some of the subdivisions that the children live in so your son will have neighbors that go to the same school as he does.

for your son I would recommend Buena Vista Elementary. It's a very highly rated school in the area and is newly done over. Sugar Mill has homes in your price range and has a community pool, there are other subdivisions in the area as well varying in price range.

If the school is the one of the most important factors in choosing a home I would recommend you finding one or two schools that you are comfortable with. You then could ask one of the realtors in our area to refine your search for home that meet your criteria in your price range in close proximity to the school. We do it all the time.
