But I'll say onc again, this is only a writers opinion of statistics. Has the person ever even stepped foot in SC much less spent time in Gville? I'm so tired of magazines putting cities on lists just based on statistics!

The same can be said of every city these organizations research. One place may be great for some people while another may be better for others, and so on. These lists should never be interpreted as universal preference. They are usually based on specific criteria and obviously contain a bit of popular opinion. In this case, I think the AARP is on the right track.

This topic was previously discussed and hijacked by off-topic arguments. Please be advised that the same will happen to this thread if we aren't careful.

Congrats to Greenville .. There are always publications that tout things like "best place to retire" or "most affordable city to live" or "Best City to Eat a Steak Sandwich" (by the way that would be Philly )etc etc.. Sometimes when you read the cities you are like....... HUH??

Some of them are self serving.. and after you read the list you see a full page advertisement somewhere else in the magazine that advertises.... low and behold.. the same city that made the Magazines "Best City to...." list ......Surprise Surprise....

If you read an article in a magazine that says "The Best City in the central portion of South Carolina that is a State Capitol" I can assure you beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is Columbia...if it says otherwise you know they are lying
