Same thing that happens last year. They are bored and the parents don't want to watch them so it shall continue. Out of hundreds of kids and only a few that happen to get in a fight not to bad. It happens every where.
This is a big deal and I will not be returning to Downtown Greenville until the problem is cleared up. What can we do to let our concerns be known and to let the local business know that we will not be spending money there?
I think Moton is on the right track...... you've got to start fining the parents for troublesome teens. It's a shame that parents have to be "motivated" by external factors to actually parent their kids but it is necessary. My two cents: start making the kids spend some time in community service (hey, how about cleaning up the park and doing building projects for the poor???) and make the parents pay fines, which can go into a fund to help pay for the increased number of officers required to patrol certain areas. Folks, we need a common sense approach to government that will effect real-world results. And if the solution hurts peoples "feelings", then so be it. Everyone isn't going to be happy in life no matter what you do. You just have to make sure the rules make law breakers the MOST UNHAPPY group so they will be motivated to change their behavior.

Had to change my post because it was racist apparently.
Yeah, it's no big deal Greenville until the restaurants downtown start losing business because citizens like you and I don't want to go down there anymore due to the fights. It's supposed to be a family friendly area, not a place for "certain people" to hang out and start trouble. The last thing that needs to happen is for people to just put this behind them like it's no big deal. It's a very big deal and something needs to be done now.
