Hi All!
We just moved in a week ago and are looking to purchase a new kitchen table....don't want to spend thousands and all the furniture stores we've looked at are a little on the high side. Are there any large, discount furniture outlets around here? We've been up and down Woodruff Rd and either I"m missing something....or I'm in the wrong area. TIA!

Powdersville Furniture Warehouse/Outlet is located along S.C. 153 on the right as you are heading away from I-85. They have name brand furniture for a much lower price. There are others around the Greenville area as well, but I don't know exactly where you might find them all. One place you may want to look is Jason's Oak Furniture on Laurens Road, next to Computer Direct Outlet (Near Palmetto Home and Garden).

Check out Rooms to Go on Haywood Road in Greenville. I did not look at Dining sets, but I bought a Living Room set - that was fairly reasonable, and of medium quality (It will go in the Family room). They have a store in Charlotte, and I assumed(correctly I hope)that I would get the same deal as driving the 2hrs to Charlotte.

Pick up the Sunday Newspaper, it has lots of flyers.

We looked at Jeff Lynchs (too high), Kimbrells, (not much of a selection), Ashley (didn't find anything we liked, pushy saleswoman) - and a couple of more I have forgotten.
One that we tried to look at was Unclaimed Furniture (in flyers) located in Duncan but it closes at 6 pm.

Good luck.

Try Carolina Consignment LLC . They have a virtual showroom. If you like what you see go by the actual showroom.

One other thing to consider, if you don't mind some used pieces, is shopping on Craig's List. I've found some wonderful, high-quality furniture for a fraction of the price I'd pay in a store. There are always a lot of dining sets advertised. We found a solid wood dining room table and eight chairs in almost perfect condition for $800. I've had such good luck buying used that it just about kills me if I have to pay retail now. I have friends who feel the same. It a bit more hassle to arrange to go to somebody's house to look at the stuff than it is to just walk into a store and pick something out. And sometimes you have to be patient until exactly what you are looking for comes up for sale. But, for me anyway, the amazing cost savings is worth it. I also like the fact that I'm reusing something -- very good from an environmental standpoint.

Default Consignment Store with Beautiful furniture

There is a pretty new store next to Academy Sports in Spartanburg. They are a consignment furniture and decorative store. They have about six or eight table sets with chairs. They are all at low prices.
CarolinaCottageConsignment.com is their website

Just wanted to comment about a furniture store I am now twice over a customer of. Furniture Marketplace(off of Augusta rd. by babcock furniture). They have name brand furniture at awesome prices, they don't mess around about cutting the marked prices , they don't give you the runaround, I told them the prices I had been seeing at other local stores and they flat out beat everyone by at least $300. They even told me if I saw a piece at ashley homestore that I wanted they would beat it by at least 20%. At other stores I was ignored and/or attacked by salespeople. Here I was greeted, talked to about what I was looking for, and then left to look around, yet when I needed any answers to my questions the salespeople were right there! Delivery was only like $50 and it only took 2 days for them to deliver it.
I just read this over and I realize this looks like some sales pitch, I have no affiliation with these guys, just want people to know about it because of the frustrations I have had at other local places, thanks!

P.S. I know this is an old thread and I often comment about how old threads should be left alone, but I feel this thread is probably relevant to many who visit here because a lot of transplants hang out on these forums.

We should have a sticky thread on this board with this information and update it accordingly.

Found this website that may be helpful:

Listed stores within 50 miles but you can expand the mileage.
