Default Moving to Greenville

I am planning on a move to Greenville, SC in late September early October. I will be going to start over, completly!!! It will be me and my 7 year old daughter. I hear its a desirable place to live. I am moving from Michigan where the economy is terrible right now...very depressing. I am looking for some apartments or rental houses to get into at first, any suggestions on good neighborhoods. Thanks

The Crossroads Apartments were great when I lived there while attending college as a single parent. THere is a daycare onsite and you could walk to Greenville Tech. They have a swimming pool and tennis courts. They are in a great location for shopping and close to Cleveland Park and the Greenville Zoo(not within walking distance) I loved Greenville. I lived in those apartments for 3 years and never had any trouble with anything!

I am a little worried about moving during the school year. It seems like it will be a little harder on the kids. I will be checking out Greenville in 4 weeks. Goodluck!

Rent wise, I have a townhome i'm looking to get a renter for. I'm in a great area, no worries about crime, beautiful landscape and views.

Funny, I'll actually be in Boston probably next month.

You can have a lot of fun here! Living wise, yes, costs will take cut backs but there will be some expenses that are probably new to you if used to public transit. Forewarning in case you are.

But hey, you can say goodbye to that 5pm pitch black outside feeling... and if into baseball, watch the Red Sox affiliate team

rent or own? If rent how much can you afford, if own what is your price range? When you say you will be working for the Greenville Hospital system where abouts? Main campus or Eastside or elsewhere?
