In your opinion What kind of buisnesses could be useful to Greenville or you would like to see besides manufacturing that you don't presently have. It could recreational to almost anything. Just want to pick some brains and also find out what Greenville is lacking if anything.

You are talking about a business you could open?
I'll give you a couple. They may sound weird.
A quality shoe repair place. The few I've found are a bit dumb on taking care of quality shoes. I asked one place to add heel taps and the girl thought I meant "tap dancing taps". No lie.
A quality suede cleaner. Take anything suede (clothing or household item) to a cleaner here and expect it to be ruined.
Good dog sitting / dog walking services.
Tour guides that run tours from downtown Greenville into the nearby mountains.
Senior care (errand runner, etc) with the number of retirees moving to Greenville.
Nothing wrong with manufacturing Sorry I wasn't more specific. Small buisness and yes this is for my own information. We have thought about opening a buisness many times.
The town I live in now wouldn't even support a nearby coffee shop if you can believe that. If I had of known then what I know now I would have opened one a long time ago but the next biggest city to us doesn't need them ( have enough already ) so we ditched that idea altogether at least in this town. How about outlets? Does Greenville have any outlet/discount stores? If so what kind. I like stores you can plunder in like TJMaxx Etc...My parents have a discount shoe store. They sell mostly athletic shoes ( Name brand NB, Reebok etc...) but have good prices so they do pretty good.
If you like TJ Maxx (my favorite store!) you will be happy to know that there are three very close by, five if you count Spartanburg and Anderson. There is also a combined Marshalls/Home Goods.
We do not have a TJ Maxx in Easley. I don't know what stores have committed to the Easley Town Center but they have started working there more. Maybe they will get going soon. The only stores we have in Easley that you would recognize would be Belk's & JC Penny's. We have one of those discount shoe stores--Rack Room but no athletic specialty. We have a Hobby Lobby, a coffee shop/restaurant on Main St. and a few other shops on Main St. Of course we have the usual Wal-Mart & K Mart. There used to be a specialty shop for womens clothes that I loved but it closed. She would only order 2 or 3 of the same item so you didn't meet yourself on the street all the time. It was a little pricey but the clothes seem to last forever. I would like to see one of those return.
We could use a good fabric store out in the Simpsonville/Fountain Inn area. Once Walmart closes their fabric department (spring 2010), it will be a trip to purchase fabric and supplies.
