Thousands of teenagers packed downtown Greenville this weekend causing a huge disturbance after an Upstate festival. Check out the video from Greenville surveillance cameras.
Greenville City Council will consider an ordinance Monday night to set a permanent curfew on some teenagers in the downtown area.
There should also be some law passed against this kind of large "mob" type scene. This is nothing short of a bunch kids with nothing better to do, wanting to ruin it for the rest of us. I hope the city holds the parents accountable and both parents and teens start landing in jail. Such a shame that the city has to play the part of the parent.
I'm guessing the "some" teenagers as opposed to "all" is because the curfew doesn't extend to those teenagers that are 18 or 19.
If they are going to make the curfew permanent, here's a suggestion: make it earlier than 10:00pm. If they want to get serious about it then make the curfew at dusk, as it is in many other cities who have used curfews to deal with these types of problems.
I don't see a fight in this video. However, I do see a lot of people crowded on the sidewalk though because so many police cars are on the road.
