I don't know if CVS is national or not. I"ve seen several in MO, OK, and IL It seems to go in towns with less than 100,000 that have a Walmart or Walgreens pharmacy nearby.

I don't think they're national. There are a ton in Greenville.

According to the following link, they are almost national, being in 45 states with 6,900 stores! CVS/pharmacy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've seen them in DC (actually, quite a long time ago).

Yes, I live in NOVA (Fairfax County, VA) and they are all over the DC area practically on every corner!

Yes CVS is national. They took over Longs drug out west early this year. And they are already over 7000 stores. I would say though Walgreens is a better pharmacy.

I don't understand our obsession with convenience. Sure, I don't want to have to go all the way across town, but do we need the density that pharmacies seem to want us to need? Yes, there are some people that are not as mobile as others, but for those they offer delivery services.

Honestly, I had higher hopes for the location.

I agree with a previous poster who said this is just the kind of thing lacking downtown (granted, wouldn't want a CVS/Walgreen's/Rite Aid on every single corner there). BTW - if there wasn't a market for them, they wouldn't go to the expense of building them.
