Our current insurer doesn't write in S.C.

Anyone have recommendations? I'm not too keen on the big comps - State Farm, Allstate, Nationwide...

Currently researching American Family, Amica, and a couple others.

Not sure how they compare with others, as my husband is a GE employee and we get a discount. But we have been satisfied with Electric Insurance for many years. Electric Insurance - Car Insurance and Homeowners Insurance, Instant Online Quotes Available...

I've always had Progressive. Although it is a big corporation, my insurance premiums have gone down every year. They even offer a discount for enrolling in their paperless option.

Jazzy, did you ever find a company to go with, and if so, mind saying who and why you chose them over another.

Will be moving up there and my auto doesn't cover SC, unfortunately. Will need to find homeowners and auto.

Thanks!

We're going w/Travelers. It came down to who offered the most coverage for the best price. Unfortunately we both have speeding tix so our auto is higher than average. I am always on the quest for a better deal though so we may switch if I find something better (need a name/policy # in order to close on our new home). I'm "retired" from teaching insurance policies/procedures in Corporate America so I'm pretty well versed -- also a licensed agent but not in this state.

I wish we did qualify for USAA. Definitely at the top of the list (mainly because they can weed out folks like us...lol)

We have had Travelers for 5 or 6 years for home and auto. Their rates have been great. Our son recently moved to Northeast PA and Traveler's rates there were great also.

I recently became eligible for USAA and their rates for auto were much lower but their rates for the home were higher.
