There's a public boat launch with a parking lot and all that good stuff. I can't remember where it is exactly, but my friends and I have used it once. I'm not sure about fishing from the shore...and I'm actually not sure about fishing in the lake at all!

as far as I know it is public for fishing and such, I know plenty of people fish around my dock on the regular, there is a public boat slip off white horse rd area,(can't remember the street) its something silly like boat slip rd or something like that, anyway you shouldn't have any problems fishing out there I don't think as long as you have a license

Looking at the map, you must be talking about Motor Boat Club Rd.

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out.

update, the public boat slip, bait and tackle shop/eatery are again open for business, just met the owner today, very nice guy, must have just bought it, he is selling gas on the lake too! something that is sorely needed!

P.S. ask him to show you the picture of the giant catfish that was caught on the lake!

Default Saluda Lake

My son owned a condo @ HarborTown on Saluda. He married and moved to Spartanburg. I regret not taking up payments. I would love to live there.

This area has been overrun with Hispanics and with that they have brought their filth and crime. Right around the lake is probably still ok for the most part, but you may see some break-ins and any close by shopping is going to with it's challenges. I have an Aunt who lives on the Easley side of that area and she hates what diversity has brought to the area.

not in my neighborhood??? most of the homes around me on the lake are 300+ thousand dollar homes, it would be hard for most criminals to afford that

Berea is like that but the lake area is very nice, I know my neighbors and we watch out for each other, never seen any crime around here

thanks for the racial slurs, glad your first post was so uplifting

That broad statement is extremely racist, in my opinion. While I do not doubt that there are indeed some who have brought crime into the area (NOT the Saluda Lake area, I know), there are many, many very good Hispanic citizens living in the Berea/Westside area who do more to benefit American society than the countless lazy, criminal-minded people in every U.S. city who were born and raised here and do absolutely nothing to benefit themselves or the communities they live in.
