Will be closing on a home next month, would like to have a survey done. Any recommendations? Any idea what the going rate is for a survey? I want a physical survey, not an arial or drive by. In Greenville area.

Will also need an appraisal if anyone knows of someone reasonable, but that can be done down the line - for now, want to know where the property lines are.

THANKS!

It cost me $80 for a survey company to come out and mark the corners. No drawings. I can't remember their name but they did it with the surveying equipment.

Do you think you can find the name? I don't think I'd need drawings, I can look on the county for the lay of the land, I just need to accurately see where the property lines are and have them marked with stakes. If you could find at your convenience, that would be great!

THANKS!

I used Carolina Surveying and Mapping
They were fast and reasonable.

The irony is that the map on gcgis was exactly correct! [which has part of my driveway on the property line]

LOL, you my neighbor? Actually there is a good bit of that in my neighborhood...........at least the covenants give an implied easment for encroaching driveways and structures if it occurs at the time or original construction.

Convenants=HOA - if that's the case, nope, can't be your neighbor, no HOA for me.

Called one that I found had done a survey for the land next door, seems the lot was split at one time and when looking at property records found the survey for the house next door and called the guy. Seems he'll charge $350.00 Will call a couple on the list hopefully tomorrow. Atty gave me a name too.

Granny, do you know if you can find information exactly when a house was built through the county? There's a year or two discrepancy and was just trying to find out if there's a way to find the plans to the house?

THANKS!

No, other than GCGIS but that can have some errors in it even so........I would call the register of deeds maybe. But lots of luck on finding the plans to the house. I wound up chasing down the builder when we found our home and got a floor plan of a house he built in another neighborhood -- reverse plan to the house we got. I have it saved for the "next buyer"............guess it winds up not being important to a lot of folks.

Hey Granny, I called your guy, will probably go with him, so thanks!!

I am able to go and see all the deeds on line, takes a little time, but they are all there. There is no specific date on the deeds about the house and when it was built, just that it has "for 1969" on the website info, so I'm taking it to be 1969, but would love to know for sure.

THANKS AGAIN!
