Default Coming from Small town Ohio to Greenville

Hi all. I've been on these forums it seems all summer! It has been a real rollercoaster ride for us. I'll try not to ramble, but give you our story.

We are very close to moving to SC. The area we would be moving to would be Greenville. Right now, we live in a small town in NE Ohio that is around 30,000 population. We have GREAT schools, rural community, big old restored farm house.

I think Greenville would be just a tad too big for us, but I don't know about the surrounding towns. I've seen Taylor, Simpsonville, Laurens, etc. Here's our list of priorities:

NUMBER ONE: Good schools. And, speaking of schools, I have a question about them. We were looking into NC for a bit. Their schools do "redistricting" all the time. So, if you have 3 kids, say in elemenatary school, all 3 could end up in different schools. It's not like that at ALL here. If you live in a particular school district your child goes there. Never an issue. How does that work in SC. Is it like here or NC?

NUMBER TWO: Smaller town.

NUMBER THREE: We want an older house (if possible) that has been completely renovated OR a new house made to "look" like an old Victorian. We also want a lot between the size of 1/2 to 1 acre.

If your school system is set up like ours, then we will look for the best schools FIRST, then a house. If not, I'm not sure. . .

Thanks and I'm sorry if I rambled. I'm very excited. Oh, and I have 3 young kids ages 11, 8 and 6.
