GoodToGo: I requested a relocation package from the Chamber of Commerce last Wednesday and received it by priority mail on Saturday. Greenville to VT in 3 days, I thought was great service. I hope you have rec'd yours by now. We are planning our next trip within the next 10 days or so. The house goes on the market when we return.
Skyliner: Thanks for all the pictures!!

Great pics guys! I was gonna add a few, but I think ya'll have covered everything!

As much as i hate it, i'm sure some people wouldn't mind seeing pics of woodruff road. Maybe some of haywood road as well. Maybe i'll go take some soon.

Don't scare people away by showing them sprawl!!!!! NO!!! Anything but that!!!!

(Just Kidding)

You're right - it would be a good idea to show off Woodruff Road (The Shops at Gridlock, The Point, Magnolia Parking Lot Town Center, etc.).

Yeah, as much as I hate Woodruff Road I find myself needing to go out there every now and then. Mostly to the Best Buy, but I usually end up being over there for a few hours so I don't have to go back for a while!

Haven't received the package from the Chamber of Commerce, maybe in today's mail...I requested it online. Did you or did you give them a jingle? Purchased a map of S.C. from the bookstore...hopefully, will get the packet you did soon!

Is Woodruff Road a bad neck of town? Was contemplating on getting a place to stay for a few days on that road or is there another area aside from downtown that is decent and not to far away from all the action?

Woodruff Road is arguably the busiest shopping/traffic corridor in the state and is still growing like mad. There are multiple mixed-use developments that have yet to even officially break ground and the traffic is already horrendous during most of each day. Add the several (and I mean SEVERAL) new subdivisions being built beyond the mega shopping cluster, plus the fact that the road is maxed out at its width of 5 lanes (silly, right?) because of poor prior planning on the part of our lowsy state DOT. With that said, I would NOT advise you to avoid Woodruff Road, since it has several great new stores and restaurants that are unique to the Upstate and even SC. The City and County are working together to correct much of the traffic problems that currently exist along the corridor, so positive changes are on the way in that regard. There are thousands of new high density residential units coming to that area as well, so it is likely to become a great additional center of urban activity in the near future, with quick access to I-85 and I-385. I recommend shopping earlier in the day to avoid the evening rush of traffic, but you may prefer that time of day since there are so many great restaurants to try out. The Shops at Greenridge offer free outdoor concerts on Friday evenings in the "village plaza," so there is an extra benefit to shopping then.
